Minister for Defence Pål Jonson to visit Colombia and Peru
SWEDEN, July 2 - On 9–10 July, Minister for Defence Pål Jonson will visit Colombia and Peru. The purpose of the trip is to discuss Sweden’s possibilities of deeper defence cooperation with both countries.
On 9 July, Mr Jonson will take part in the F-AIR Colombia aeronautic fair in Rionegro, Antioquia, where Sweden will be a guest of honour. He will deliver a speech during the inauguration and will also have bilateral talks with his Colombian counterpart Pedro Sánchez.
Representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the Embassy of Sweden in Bogotá, Business Sweden, several Swedish companies, the Royal Institute of Technology and Lund University will take part in F-AIR Colombia. Swedish astronaut Marcus Wandt and Sweden’s first female fighter pilot Anna Dellham will also participate. Two Gripen aircraft will be on show, with support from the Brazilian Air Force.
On 10 July, Mr Jonson will visit the Peruvian capital of Lima for bilateral meetings with Peru’s Minister of Defence Walter Astudillo Chávez.
